Evelyn M Vajen

Evelyn M. (Harmon) Vajen, 101, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Manor of Perrysburg. She was born in Henry County, Ohio on June 7, 1912 to Oscar and Lizzie (Kuhlmann) Harmon. She married her sweetheart, Milton J. Vajen in Napoleon, Ohio on November 24, 1938 and together raised their 2 children. Evelyn was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church. She loved to crochet and to do needlepoint and cross stitching. Evelyn is survived by her son, Kenneth P. (Carolyn) Vajen , Perrysburg, OH; daughter, Betty L. (Ronald) Haas, Gainesville, VA; grandchildren, Michael (Shelly) Vajen, James (Jen) Vajen, Julie (Mark) Miller, Christopher (Wendy) Haas, Kevin (Julie) Haas and Karyn (Steve) Sizemore; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Junior (Elaine) Harmon, Napoleon, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Milton, and ten siblings. Friends will be received at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH. (419-874-3133) on Tuesday, May 20 from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave. Perrysburg, OH. on Wednesday, May 21 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be private at Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Manor of Perrysburg for their compassionate care.
