Evelyn Ruth Tipton

Evelyn Ruth Tipton 92, passed into heaven on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Toledo Hospital in Toledo Ohio. She was born February 1, 1929 in Adrian Michigan to Maude May Welch, and Graydon Ellsworth Loar of Ogden Township, Michigan, where she spent her youth, eventually marrying and starting a family. She later moved to Lyons with her husband, Earl Lewis Tipton (September 7, 1928) – January 23, 2014) and her family to a farm in Lyons, Ohio where she would sing in the church choir, write a column for the local paper and later become involved with the local volunteer Fire Department and rise to the rank of Captain of the rescue squad. She was active in the Unitarian/Universalist Church of Lyons, becoming a pillar of that community and enjoying a large circle of friends. Evelyn loved to travel and visited many exotic locales on adventures with Earl. She will long be remembered for Hugs, Pillow fights, Christmas cookies, Ice cream sundaes, a love of giraffes, a youthful spirit, fearlessness, a beautiful singing voice, but most of all for how much she loved her family and grandchildren. The widow of Earl Tipton, she is survived by sons, Michael Earl (Gay) Tipton, Larry Paul (Betty) Tipton and Thomas Graydon (Jodi) Tipton; daughter, Lori Ann Tipton; grandchildren, Jeremy, Carly Higgenbotham , Zachary, Wesley, Megan Kehren, Erin Archer, Eden, Graydon and Chiron Tipton; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Connor, Annika, Brynn, Bryson, Jadelyn, Christopher, Megan and Samantha; brothers, Bruce and Wayne Loar; and sister, Mary Scribner. A Memorial Service will be held on Septermber 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
