Evelyn Barbara Schefdore

Evelyn Ev Seamon Schefdore, 76, of Sylvania, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg following a long illness. Evelyn was born on July 30, 1936 to the late Helen and Nick Seamon in Chicago, IL. When Evelyn was a young girl, she and her family moved to Kelly Lake, WI where they owned lakeside cabins and a restaurant. Evelyn graduated from Oconto Falls High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ferdinand Ferdy Schefdore in 1955. Ferdy preceded her in death in 2005 just prior to their 50th wedding anniversary. Evelyn was primarily a homemaker, but also worked at her parents family owned grocery store and cabins. She studied to become an Emergency Medical Technician, worked as a bank teller and volunteered at local hospitals and briefly at the Sylvania Senior Center. Evelyn enjoyed oil painting, gardening, traveling especially cruising and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and loved cheering them on each football season. Evelyn is survived by her son, Ron Donna Schefdore; daughter, Lori John Regan; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Schefdore; sister, Carol Mike Dispensa; goddaughter, Janet Gary Garcia; aunt, Olga Krenn; grandchildren, Helen, Ryan, Kelly, Allison, John and Christina; and great-grandchildren, Marcell and KJuan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Helen Seamon; husband, Ferdinand; son Richard; brother, Bob; and grandson, James. Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 10-12pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Road. Services immediately following with entombment at Toledo Memorial Park. A special thank you to the entire hospice team. Especially Evelyns primary visiting nurse, social worker and special volunteer whose extra love and support provided immense strength to our family during a very difficult time.
