Evelyn G. Pollock, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Thursday morning, April 19, 2012, at Edgewood Nursing Home. Evelyn was born on September 22, 1914, in Adrian, MI to John H. Johnston and Gladys Mae Wilbur. On August 20, 1938, she married Dallas Pollock and he survives. Evelyn worked as a seamstress at Clinton Cleaners and Bergemans Mens Clothing Store. She worked at various other places including the City Bakery, Travelers Inn and the 3D Taxi Cab Company. Evelyn volunteered at H. B. Magruder Hospital for many years, was a Girl Scout Leader for nine years, and she drove children to and from the Sight Saving Classes held at Oak Harbor elementary school. She was also involved in Child Study Club, the Sunrise Garden Club and an Investment Club. Her survivors include: husband: Dallas; daughter: Judith Lynne Pollock, Toldeo; grandsons: Michael Joan Dees and Stephen Pollock and sister: Dorothy Mae Loomer of California. Evelyn was preceded in death by daughter Bonnie Jean Dees, parents, brother Wilber John Johnston and sister, Margaret Louise Hanley. Friends may call Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5pm until Memorial service at 7pm in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory. Private Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Toledo. Memorial contributions can be made in the memory of Evelyn to the American Cancer Society and the Ottawa County Humane Society.
