Evelyn O. Peloquin

Evelyn celebrated her Eternal Birthday at almost 99 years of age, as she departed this life on May 11, 2018. She was born near Rocky Ridge, Ohio on June 3, 1919, and moved to a farm between Martin and Elliston at an early age. The family moved to Genoa in 1933, and she graduated from Genoa High School in 1937. She was head teller at the Genoa Bank for 30 years. While her husband was the mayor, she also served as his bookkeeper and bailiff of the Genoa Court for 12 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and baking and playing word games. But she always stated that her greatest achievement was getting all 3 boys through college. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth (Freimark) Draeger, her husband, William, and sister Delores. She is survived by her 3 sons, William, Robert and David, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Evelyn will be held from 4-8 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, Ohio. Burial will follow the service in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Johns United Church of Christ, Genoa.
