EVELYN L. FAIR Evelyn L. Fair, age 87, of Walbridge, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 22, 2014. Until early this year, Evelyn lived in Walbridge with her husband and daughter. Evelyn was born in Chicago, IL on July 19, 1927 to Russell and Esther (Stoelting) Enochs. Evelyn graduated from Steinmetz High School (Chicago) in 1945 and from Moody Bible Institute in 1949 with a degree in Christian Education. She married Robert G. Fair, Sr. on May 19, 1951. She was a valued employee of the Walbridge Exchange Bank for 14 years, retiring in 1987. Evelyn was a devoted servant of God who loved the Lord, her family and friends, and her church. For forty years she served as a Sunday school teacher at First Alliance Church in Toledo. She supported missionaries, sharing their stories through a weekly written feature, and was a member of her church choir for decades. Evelyn also played the piano and loved to praise God through music! Evelyn’s deep Christian faith was an example to many. Her daily motto was, “No Bible, no breakfast.” She loved to read her Bible and pray, faithfully praying for others throughout her life. Evelyn’s quiet, gentle spirit, warm smile, and humble, positive approach to life gave her the ability to lovingly influence the people around her. These qualities were always evident, even during her illness. As a volunteer at Promedica Bay Park Hospital, Evelyn continued to contribute to her community after retirement. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, Bob. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert G. Fair, Sr., son Robert G. Fair, Jr. (Kari L.), daughter Roberta G. Fair, and niece Christina Fair Fields. Evelyn’s family would like to thank the Memory Care staff at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the love and excellent care they provided Evelyn. The family will receive guests on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121).
