Evelyn Mae Chappelear

Evelyn Mae Chappelear, age 84 of Toledo passed away Monday December 1, 2014 in the Ebeid Hospice residence.  She was born July 11, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Nicholas and Edith (Bowles) Hero.  A 1948 graduate of Woodward High School she was an administrative assistant for 35 years at the former Toledo Plate and Window Glass.  A member of  Emmanuel Baptist Church,  she and her husband went on 3 mission trips to Brazil, Argentina and Chile.   They also travelled together throughout the United States and abroad.  Evelyn most enjoyed homemaking and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Tom Hero, she is survived by her husband Paul; daughters Karen (Ron) Bash and Lisa Chappelear; grandchildren Troy (Jamie) Bash and Courtney Hershberger; great-grandchildren Barrett and Brock Hershberger and Calvin Bash; sister DeNell Tolle;  brother Richard Hero; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Thursday from 1-8 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday after 10 AM in Emmanuel Baptist Church  4207 Laskey Rd. Toledo where funeral services will follow at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park.  The family suggests memorials to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Mission Fund.  Condolences may be sent to the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com
