Eva Sue Buckner

Eva Sue Buckner, 86 of Sylvania, OH passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Goerlich Center. She was born on October 23, 1936 in Carlisle County, KY to Albert Ray and Mora Ruth (Underwood) Gorham and she married Charles Buckner.

Sue received her associate’s degree in art and spent much of her career working in fashion, furniture retailing and art. Sue loved creating works of art in many mediums. Her favorite medium was painting and she loved to paint nature scenes, animals and her loved ones. Sue was an excellent cook and a foodie. Some of her best creations included stuffed artichokes, eggplant parmigiana and pork tenderloins. Sue was generous, caring, full of life and always a reliable friend. Her family will miss her bright energy at Sunday dinners, her incredible kindness and acceptance of others as well as her unique style and inquisitive mind. Her hours-long calls with her grandchildren and grandmotherly advice will not be forgotten.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Becky (Mike) Gannon; and grandchildren, Ryan and Drew. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Buckner.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:15 am at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Art Museum. Condolences can be shared at
