Eula Belle Stoddard

Eula “Dottie” Stoddard, 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sister; and son-in-law, N. Scott Ballard. Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Delbert Stoddard; children, Michael Stoddard and Lisa Ballard; daughter-in-law, Megan Stoddard; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dottie was born on August 4, 1933 in Springfield, IL to Elza and Daisy Hayes. She was a loving mother, who adored all children. Once her son and daughter headed off to college, she enrolled at the University of Toledo, earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Upon graduation she began teaching as a substitute teacher for Toledo Public Schools and Washington Local School District, and from there went on to teach at Toledo Nathan-Hale and Crossgates elementary schools.

A private memorial service will be held for Dottie in Jacksonville, IL, at a date to be determined. Condolences to her family may be made at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
