Eugene Woodson, Jr., age 73, of Toledo, left this world on December 7, 2019 at Ebeid Hospice Center in Sylvania. He was born December 19, 1945 in Toledo to the late Eugene Sr. and Freddie Mae (McNutt) Woodson. Gene was and inspector and boiler operator at Daimler Chrysler in Perrysburg for thirty years. Following retirement, he worked for four years at Wildwood MetroPark in maintenance. In his free time, Gene enjoyed gardening, bird watching, was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and served as the Family Grill Master while listening to his favorite smooth jazz music. An exemplary husband, father and provider, he will be lovingly remembered for his accepting, non-judgmental, caring nature and for his keen sense of humor. Gene was a Godly man who had a kind and gentle spirit. He lived his life in service and support of others, especially his family, and he will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife and best friend, Geraldine Geri A. (Barner) Woodson; children, Eugene D. Woodson, Antuan Woodson and Anntoinette Quinn; nine grandchildren; sisters, Joann, Paulette, Gwen, Francine, Rhonda and Kim; brothers, Cedel, Maurice, Adrian and Andre; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gene was also preceded in death by a brother, Garland; and aunt, Phoebe. Family and friends are invited to visit the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.), on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services to celebrate Genes home going at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Contributions in Genes name may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
