Eugene C. Vanhoose

Eugene C. VanHoose, 87, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. Eugene was born on April 25, 1925 in Gypsum, OH, the son of Clarence and Thelma Foraker VanHoose. He was married to his first wife, Marion Sindet and she preceded him in death in 1984. Eugene then married Ruth Carr Rogers VanHoose and she survives. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during WWII. Eugene was a member of the American Legion Post #113 and the V. F. W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480. He loved life and golfing. Survivors include: Wife: Ruth Carr VanHoose of Port Clinton, OH; Sons: Barry Karen VanHoose of IL, Paul Jennifer VanHoose of FL and Chuck VanHoose of NH; Step-sons: Jim Vicki Rogers and Bob Gloria Rogers both of Port Clinton, OH; Brother: Curtis Grace VanHoose of Port Clinton, OH; Several Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren; many loving Nieces & Nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, daughter-in-law: Leslie VanHoose, sister: Grace Johnson, brothers: Paul, Warren, Jim & Richard. Visitation will be 12PM to 2PM, Friday, July 27, 2012 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, with the funeral service held at 2:00PM. Interment will be in the Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ. Memorial donations in memory of Eugene may be given to Stein Hospice.
