Eugene Stephen Jakubec

Eugene S. Jakubec, 90, of Rossford, OH passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on June 7, 1931, in Perrysburg, OH to C. Stephen and Cecilia A. (Ignaczak) Jakubec. He married Molly A. Vavrik on Easter Monday, April 14, 1952, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage recently.

Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for over 38 years at Libbey Owens Ford as a glass worker before retiring in 1989.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Molly Jakubec; children, Mark (Sandra) Jakubec, Martin (Kim) Jakubec, Jane (David) Jump, Matthew Jakubec and Joseph (Wendy) Jakubec; grandchildren, Christina (Todd) Griffith, Ann Marie Stec, Molly (Alan) Joseph, Mark (Todd Williams) Jakubec, James Jakubec, Jonathan Jakubec, Samanatha (Rich) Linak, Jason Metzger, Kelly Metzger, Andrew (Allie Johnson) Jakubec, Daniel Jakubec USN., Korie (Ryan) Anthony, Amanda Jakubec, Amelia Jakubec and Adam Jakubec; great grandchildren, Evan, Allison, Lauren, Dylan, Jocelynn, Jacob, Leah, Jordan, Andi, Ryli, Kole, Reid, Will, Emma, Averie and David Jr.; two nieces, Kristine Goldsmith, Karen Bodeker; and special cousin, Joanne Bucklew. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Eugene “Sam” and Michael Jakubec; and grandson, Nicholas Welborne.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Sujkowski – Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd., Rossford, OH 43460 (419-666-1566). Visitation will continue on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 9:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd, Rossford, OH.
