Eugene C. Buttsie Schwind

Eugene C. Buttsie Schwind, age 87, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Waterford at Levis Commons. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on July 30, 1928 to Lawrence and Edna (Haas) Schwind. Eugene was a 1946 graduate of Perrysburg High School where he played football and baseball. After high school he played Fed Ball, slow pitch softball and coached Little League. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and watching the Detroit Tigers. Eugene loved to play cards and spend time with his family. He worked for L.O.F for 38 years; retiring in 1987 and then worked for 18 years in retirement at Belmont Country Club. Eugene was a lifelong member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Donna (neé Spoerl); daughter, Sandra Stricker; sons, Stephen (Janet), Mark (Denise), Scott (Karen), Matthew (Brenda) and Patrick (Elizabeth); 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Robert Schwind and great grandchildren, Carson and Pierson Stricker. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with a scripture service to be held at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, Ohio with prayers beginning in the funeral home at 9:45 am. Interment will be in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
