Eugene R. Plantz

Eugene Pete R. Plantz, 83, of Genoa, passed away Monday afternoon, December 12, 2011, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Pete was born December 8, 1928, in Genoa to Verne Pete and Jennie E. Scott Plantz and the last in line of the Plantz family. He graduated from the old Genoa High School, class of 1947. In 1948 Pete worked in Clay Center and Gibsonburg lime plants in the lab. In 1960 he went to work for Chrysler Corp., Toledo Machining Plant, in Perrysburg and retired in May 1991. Pete was a member of UAW 1435 and a member of the Genoa Christian Church. He liked to draw and paint pictures, signs and houses. He also had a great sense of humor-he liked to make people laugh. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thomas W., Kenneth V and Robert L. Plantz, sister, Beatrice M. Baird, and an infant sister. Left to cherish his memory are nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several very special friends. Weve shared hopes, dreams, laughter and tears, and so many memories through the years. The funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Pete may be given to the Genoa Christian Church, the American Heart Association or the donors choice.
