Eugene Snooks Novotny, 62, of Williston, Ohio, died Friday , August 7, 2009, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Eugene was born in Toledo on February 2, 1947 and was the son of Lloyd and Mary Novotny. On August 16, 1969 he married Susan Feyes at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. He worked for the Ohio Turnpike as a toll collector in Elmore. Eugene was co-owner and manager for Clay Center Recreation with his father. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and also a veteran of the Army where we served during the Vietnam War. Eugene enjoyed life to the fullest with the three grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and rock collecting. Eugene was also an avid dog lover. Survivors include his wife Susan of 39 years, sons, Phillip and wife Karen, and Kevin and wife Beth Novotny, grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, and Noah Novotny. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Eugene will be Monday August 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, Ohio. A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa, Ohio. Memorial contributions in memory of Eugene may be directed to the American Heart Association, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Department Station1.
