Eugene W. "Gino" Goncz

September 22, 1939 — September 4, 2022

Eugene W. “Geno” Goncz, 82, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on September 4, 2022 with his loving family. He was born in Toledo, the son of Oliver and Helen (Roginski) Goncz on September 22, 1939. He married Donna (Shaneck) and they spent the next 37 years together.

Geno was a painting contractor in the commercial and private sectors for over 60 years. He was proud to run his business, E.W. Goncz Painting and Remodeling, LLC, with fairness and dignity and was excellent at his profession.

Geno loved to bowl and earned a ring for a perfect 300 game. He bowled in traveling leagues at the Toledo Sports Center and Interstate Lanes, along with leagues in Woodville, Oregon and Rossford, Ohio. He was also a very active and dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge #495 in Oak Harbor, Ohio and the Zenobia Shriners, organizations he dearly loved.

Geno leaves behind a loving family that will miss him dearly. His wife, Donna, daughter, Kris (Greg) Keaton, son, Daniel (Laura) Nowak, daughter, Kerry (Jeremy) Fritz. His ten grandchildren, Josh, Ethan, Zachary, Alayna, Bradan, and Ava, Amanda, Ashlee, Tyler and Greggy, all of whom will miss his stories. And of course, his beloved dog, Gypsy, by his side, always.

Geno did not want a service, but just his family with him. In lieu of flowers, he would appreciate any memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave., Maumee, OH 43537. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
