Ethel F. Vargovich

Ethel Vargovich, age 85, of Monclova, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 7, 2010, while surrounded by her loving family. Ethel was born in Delta, Ohio on December 5, 1924 to Charles A. and Alta M. Stierle, the third of three children. Ethel graduated from Monclova High School in 1942. She then worked at Doehler Jarvis during the war. On November 23, 1950 she married George J. Vargovich and had 2 children, George A. and Karen S.. She then worked as a cook for numerous rest homes retiring from Sunshine Childrens Home in 1986. She loved to excel in her faith in God, attending prayer meetings and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Freedom Point Church in Monclova. She also loved to play scrabble, rummikub and card games with her close friends and neighbors. She is survived by her children, George A. Suzan of Toledo, Karen Keith of Monclova; grandchildren, Scott Jennifer, Stephanie Jamie, Brian Sonya and Mike; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles W. Stierle and half-brother, LaVerne Whitmill. Ethel and her family wish to express our sincere thanks to those at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care she received for the last two years. A very special thanks to Vicki, Brooke and Becky. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Freedom Point Church. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, from 3-8 PM at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. A Memorial Service will be held at Freedom Point Church, Monclova, Ohio on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Derek Moran officiating.
