Ethel Phoebe Swartz

SWARTZ Markley Ethel Phoebe Ethel Phoebe Swartz, 88, of Toledo passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the Orchard Villa Care Center, Oregon, OH surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 8, 1919 in Toledo to Joseph Thomas and Dorothy Sophia Goos Higgins. Ethel was employed by AP Parts during WWII and was the manager of the Swiss Hall in Toledo. She was a member of the Eagles Club # 197 and former member of the Yondota Chapter of Eastern Star. A loving mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Ethel is survived by her son, Elmer Dorothy Hutchinson; daughter, Nancy Albert Shaughnessy; stepsons, Lawrence Joan Swartz and Laurel Carol Swartz; 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Albert Swartz and Thomas Markley; daughters, Shirley Blanchong and Dorothy Mae Hutchinson and son, James Lee Laura Hutchinson and step-son, Leo Swartz. Family and friends may visit Monday from 3-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
