Ethan Hamms, 17, of Holland, OH, passed away on January 31, 2026. Born on March 14, 2008, in Hillsdale, Michigan, Ethan was a young man of steady focus and deep creative passions.
A senior at Springfield High School, Ethan was looking forward to graduating this coming May. He was a bright student who excelled in the sciences, most recently celebrating a hard-earned "A" in his physics class.
Outside of the classroom, Ethan's life was defined by his connection to music. He was a talented musician who sang and played the guitar, piano, and saxophone. His appreciation for music went far beyond just playing. He was a dedicated collector of vinyl records, often spending hours listening to favorites like Radiohead, Evanescence, and Lady Gaga on the high-quality record player he saved up to buy for himself. Ethan's favorite gifts were always concert tickets or a new record to add to his collection. His bedroom featured a "favorite artist" wall, a rotating gallery that he would carefully update as new bands and sounds rose to the top.
Ethan is survived by his father, Derek Hamms; mother, Chelsey Hamms; and brother, Gavin Hamms. He will be remembered for his sharp mind and his creative spirit.
