Esther A. Myerholtz, 97, of Oak Harbor, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Esther was born April 9, 1910, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, to August and Marie Hammelman Deininger. On August 1, 1934, she married Albert Myerholtz in Oak Harbor, and he preceded her in death in 1982. Esther was a homemaker and a dedicated Christian and member of Zion United Methodist Church in Elliston, where she had once been an active member of the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Happy Hobby Garden Club and Riverview Auxiliary. She attended college in Bowling Green and taught country school at Limestone School for five years until her marriage. Esther touched the lives of many as a farm wife and mother, elementary school teacher, Sunday School teacher, community volunteer, gardener, and shut-in visitor. Esther is survived by her sons, Melvin Kathryn Myerholtz of Castalia and Lowell Helen Myerholtz of Gibsonburg, daughters, Elaine Melvin Mylander of Oak Harbor and Karen Dennis Dewitz of Sylvania; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, sisters, Sophia Schott and Lillian Schiller, and brothers, George, William, and Henry Deininger. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2007, in Zion United Methodist Church, Elliston, with one hour visitation prior from 1-2 p.m. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery, Graytown. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007, in Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor.
