Esther I. Lorenzen, 91, of Genoa, died Thursday evening, January 28, 2016, at the Genoa Retirement Village. Esther was born February 5, 1924, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, to Guy L. and Maude M. (Fox) Ottney. She married Herbert E. Lorenzen in Gibsonburg, Ohio, on February 6, 1943, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1984. Esther was a farmer and a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. For over 27 years she drove school bus for Genoa schools and two years as a sub-driver. She was an avid Bingo player and especially enjoyed keeping up with her grandchildrens sporting events. Esther is survived by her daughters, Paula Benadum of Genoa, Shirley (Tom) Paul of Pemberville and Cindy (Dean) Fredrick of Martin; grandchildren, Mike Benadum, Mark Benadum, Michelle Benadum, Ann (Loren) Lavoy, Guy (Tanja) Paul, Jacob (Audrey) Fredrick and Whitney Fredrick; great grandchildren, Austin and Gavan Benadum, Jordan and Alec Benadum, Alyssa, Austin and Ericka Lavoy, and Robin and Bret Paul; and great-great grandchildren, Sabrina Paul and Sterling Benadum. Her parents, husband, great granddaughter, Gay Paul, and seven siblings preceded her in death. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the funeral home with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family has suggested that memorials for Esther be given to Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 98, Genoa, OH 43430; or the donors choice.
