Esther Conn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to Raymond and Alva Simmons, Esther grew up in Temperance, Michigan, and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Bedford High School in 1947. Her life took a beautiful turn when she met her future husband, Donald Conn, while they were both employed at Grant's Department Store in downtown Toledo. They married in November 1949 and went on to share an extraordinary 74 years of devotion and partnership.
A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Esther dedicated her life to caring for her family and serving her church community. Whether overseeing the church kitchen, cleaning every Friday, or assisting with bookkeeping, she gave her time with humility and joy. During retirement, she and Donald were active members of Whiteford Wesleyan Church for more than 20 years. Of all her roles, being a grandmother brought her the greatest joy.
Esther is survived by her daughters Rebecca Glover, Brenda Roadarmel, and Cindy (Martin) Heller; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; two sisters, sons-in-law Douglas Glover,John Roadarmel, Granddaughter Angela Roadarmel and Great Granddaughter Shayna Hill.
Esther's legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
