Esther M. Baumert, 93, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor. She was born in Oak Harbor on August 3, 1922 to Reuben and Magdaline (Beier) Hehl. On August 9, 1947, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, she married Clarence W. Tack Baumert and after more than sixty years of marriage he preceded her in death on April 17, 2008. Esther was a homemaker and a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. She was very generous with her time and talents, she loved to knit and had made several beautiful afghans. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, tending her flower garden, and making ceramics. Surviving Esther are her daughters, Connie Thomas and Sharon and her husband Michael McCullough, niece, Linda (Jensen) Stewart, and nephews Larry and Dan Jensen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tack, granddaughter, Charity Thomas-Marshall, brothers, Lyle & Charles Hehl, and sisters, Gladys Jensen, Juanita Hehl and Beatrice Hehl. Visitation will be conducted in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Funeral services for Esther will be conducted by Reverend John Stirewalt at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor. Interment will follow in the Salem Township Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor. Memorials in Esthers name may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Choir Fund.
