Esperanza "Hope" Dominguez

Esperanza “Hope” Dominguez, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was received into God's glory on June 25, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family. She is very much loved and will be dearly missed as we are heartbroken from her passing.

She was born on December 25, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. On October 18, 1964, she married Clemente Dominguez. This union was blessed with four children. Esperanza spent her years rearing and raising her children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She had a huge heart for animals, especially cats and dogs. She loved tending to her yard and writing. She was an amazing cook. We will all miss her home-made tortillas, chicken mole, pigs-in-a-blanket, and Thanksgiving dinners.

She always gave of herself with fullness, helping anyone who needed help; a servant to others and God's four-legged creatures in every sense of the word. She was forgiving, kind, and gracious, and she could also be a jokester, spunky, and very much Miss Independent. Most of all she believed in and loved her Father God in Heaven.

To cherish her memories, Esperanza leaves behind her four children, daughters Rita “Ana” (Jose Luis) Lopez, Diana Benton, Claire (LeRoi) Basinger; son, Toby Dominguez; son-in-law Marvin Benton; grandchildren, Mario (Amanda) Rogers, Navaia Hope and Benjamin Basinger; Josh (Renee) Ulrich and Lena Ulrich; “CJ” Sanders, Nina and Timothy Benton; Karina Dominguez, and Da'Leeia Pyles; great-grandsons Michael Harris and Emmit Ulrich; sisters, Yolanda Ramos and Janie Hernandez; and brother Felix Hernandez.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clemente Dominguez; grandchildren Cody Rogers, Jessica and Chad Michael Ulrich, and Isabella Rose Dominguez; sister Elena; brothers Abe, Mario, Elias, Jose, and Adolph.

Esperanza's request was that the funeral services be held in private.
