Ernie F. Metcalf, Jr.

Ernie F. Metcalf, Jr., 62, of Rocky Ridge, OH passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH. He was born on August 18, 1957 in Port Clinton, OH to Ernie F. and Darlene Shirley (Brashear) Metcalf, Sr. On December 17, 1977 in Port Clinton, OH he married Becky Rook and she survives. Ernie worked in quality control for Celotex, Inc. in Port Clinton, OH for 25 years. He was a member of Buckeye Coon Hunters Association, Oak Harbor Conservation Club, and the N.R.A. – Golden Eagles Level. Ernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family was everything to him and he loved spending time with his grandkids. Ernie was a simple man of few words. He will be remembered as a good devoted family man. In addition to his loving wife, Becky, of over 42 years, Ernie is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Curt) Giesler, grandchildren, McKenzie and Mason Giesler, siblings, Belinda (Raymond) Joseph, Tammy Fellows, Bradley (Delmi) Metcalf, and Char (Matt) Wood, and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Metcalf, and sister, Luetta Metcalf. Visitation for Ernie will be Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Per the state mandate, facial covering will be required, and social distancing guidelines should be followed. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the funeral home. The service will be webcast on Facebook Live thru the Walker Funeral Home Facebook Page or thru the tribute page for Ernie on the funeral home website www.walkerfuneralhomes.com where online condolences for the family may be left as well. Interment will follow in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial donations in memory of Ernie may be given in care of the family.
