Ernest Toth

Ernest Toth, 99, of Genoa, OH passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Bay Park Community Hospital Acute Care, Oregon, OH. He was born on August 6, 1922, in Toledo, OH to Steven and Anna (Gacsi) Toth. His father, Steven, immigrated from Hungary and became a citizen, which made Ernest a firstborn generation American. He served proudly in the U.S. Army and then worked as a research engineer for Jeep/Chrysler in Toledo for over 40 years before retiring. He was a previous active member of the Kiwanis Club of Elmore, OH, and volunteered at the St. Louis Helping Hands for many years. Ernest loved to dance and taught dance at Arthur Murray’s in Toledo. He loved watching all sports and enjoyed fishing. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed league play during his retirement. He was known for his adaptability, being hardworking, and good at overcoming challenges. He lived with faith, hope, and love. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his family.

Ernest is survived by his daughters, Sandra M. Toth and Katherine E. (David) Schroeder, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, Beatrice Irene (Winters) Toth and Elaine A. (Pachelieff), and brother, Robert Toth.

Visitation for Ernest will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022, and 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory 501 West St., Genoa, OH with graveside committal services to follow at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
