Erma E. Dee, age 97, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passes away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. she was born on February 3, 1918 in Bluffton, Indiana to Orlando and Anna Pearl (Walser) Ashbaucher. Erma was a graduate of Waite High School and attended George Washington University and University of California. She was a laboratory assistant and secretary at Flower Hospital and later served four years as a lab instructor in the Navy hospital corps during World War II. Erma also worked for Acacia Insurance in Washington D.C, as a mortgage loan assistant and later as secretary for the U.S. Army Quality Control Division in San Francisco. From 1971 until she retired, she worked in the office of Attorney Peter Gwyn Erma married Raymond Dee of New York City in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1983. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church until its closing where she was a soloist and Sunday School teacher for many years, Clerk of Session, and served in the Womens Association. Erma then became and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perrysburg. She was a former member of Toledo Choral Society, a charter member of Perrysburg Suburban Singers and Perrysburg Symphony Chorale where she enjoyed singing over a period of years. Erma volunteered for more than 25 years at the Museum of Art Peristyle and the Stranahan Theater. Continuously active in the community, she was a member of the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Zoo, Wood County Humane Society and Wycliffe Associates. She is survived by her children, Margaret Straub of Perrysburg; Patricia (Scott) Thompson of Centerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Katherine Straub; Robin Straub; William Thompson; Patrick Thompson and Anna Thompson; brother, Duane Ashbaucher of Perrysburg and sister-in-law, Marie. In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by husband Raymond; sister, Mauvareen Klingbeil and brother, Norman. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cherry Street Mission, First Presbyterian Church or donors choice.
