Eric Scsavnicki

On January 12, 1978, we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our world. Sadly, we said goodbye too soon on August 20, 2022. Eric Scsavnicki was a talented, kind, and gentle soul, destined to be an artist. He began drawing cartoons at an early age refining and focusing his artistic passion on tattoo art. Eric ventured out at 16 years old, traveling the United States while learning and developing his artistic skills. He settled in California 12 years ago and worked tirelessly to hone his craft in the competitive tattoo world of California. His amazing art became featured in several international tattoo journals. Yet Eric was very modest about his talent and accomplishments. When a limousine was sent to pick him up to tattoo a celebrity, it was all in a day’s work. He was not at all materialistic and took pleasure in sketching and drawing when he wasn’t at work. Eric was kind and generous to his friends. Even during lean times, he was always ready to share whatever he had with others. We remember Eric buying a Christmas tree for a co-worker with children who could not afford to buy gifts and a tree for his family. Eric loved his family, including sons Collin, Blade, and John. He was very loyal, loved his friends and remained very close to cousins John and Daniel Hylant as well as his aunts, Susan Hilton and Carol Hylant. His constant companion during the past 11 years was his beloved rescue dog, sweet little Dixie, who brought him immense joy. Eric was preceded in death by his mother Jane. A memorial service and dinner honoring Eric will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Back Forty Event Center, 5215 Monroe St., from 4-6 p.m.
