Eric W. Holmes, 45, of Toledo, died February 12, 2015. He was born December 9, 1969 in Toledo. Eric graduated from Rogers High School and received his degree in nursing from Owens Community College. He later earned a bachelors degree in business and finance from Lourdes University, graduating Cum Laude. He worked as an ER/Trauma Nurse at various hospitals in Toledo and SE Michigan. Eric loved the outdoors, especially going for walks in the Metro Parks. He also enjoyed attending the Toledo Symphony and was an animal lover. He will be missed by his dog, Bailey and cat, Booties. Eric was a skilled cook and known for his outstanding banana nut bread. He found his greatest enjoyment in spending time with friends and family and will be lovingly remembered for his engaging and likable personality, boisterous laugh and great smile. Survivors include his life partner, Thomas Gordon; his loving mother, Marilyn Holmes; father and step mother, William and Linda Holmes; siblings, Cynthia (Levi) Cook, Mark (Merry) Stoyanovich, Keith (Mark) Stoyanovich, Sherri Holmes, Brian (Denise) Holmes and Terry (Kelly) Holmes; special friend, Jerry Lowry; and numerous nieces and nephews including Brandon Vaughn, who was like a brother to Eric. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) concluded with services to celebrate Erics life at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Toledo Area Humane Society.
