Eric L Rick Feeny

February 3, 1956 — December 8, 2012

Eric L.”Rick” Feeny, 56, of Walbridge was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and passed away on December 8, 2012 at his home. Although he fought a hard battle, Eric accepted this and fought without complaint. Eric proudly wore a Union Civil War hat everywhere he went to help ensure the importance of that war, and that it is not forgotten. He had a passion for history, specifically Civil War and medieval periods. Abraham Lincoln was his hero. Eric was known for his extraordinary sense of humor and within minutes, he could have an entire room booming with laughter. Despite the fact that he had five brothers and one dear sister, he maintained a very close relationship with each of them. Eric was a warm-hearted and caring man that was always eager to help if anyone needed him. Family members would call from anywhere in the country to get directions if they were lost and Rick was always there to get them back on track. He was nicknamed “Rand McNally” for that reason. Although Eric was close with his many family members, he was exceptionally close to his daughter and two grandchildren. He was a terrific father and phenomenal grandfather. He provided guidance and was an unrelenting teacher and loyal friend. Rick was born on February 3, 1956 in Lansing, Michigan to Edmund (Barbara Jones) Feeny. He was employed as a professional driver for area truck and limousine companies. Eric is survived by his daughter: Sarah Ryley, Grandchildren: Cameron Kolb and Sawyer Ryley, Mother: Barbara Feeny, Brother of: Edmund (LuAnn) Feeny, Shirleen Ross, Gregg Feeny, Dann Feeny, Gary (Robin) Feeny, and Bryan Feeny. There will be an upbeat celebration of Eric’s life held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the V.F.W. Post #9963 at 109 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 P.M. until Midnight. Dinner and beverages will be served, with casual attire.
