Eric George Christiansen

Eric George Christiansen, 84, of Holland, Ohio passed away on April 27, 2016 at the Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, Ohio. He was born on May 15, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eric and Mabel (Ruff) Christiansen and he married Audrey Joan Peck on June 16, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky. Eric graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI with his degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After retirement from engineering, Eric also worked part-time for several years at the Toledo Art Museum as a security guard and Cedar Point as park maintenance. Up to the age of 80, Eric participated in swimming, running, and bicycling events, including the Senior Olympics in which many times, he won! Eric is survived by his loving children, Valerie (Jim) Davis, Lisa (Lonnie) Shuey, Dane (Cathi) Christiansen and Brion Christiansen; grandchildren, Aubrey (Taylor) Marsden, David Shuey, Ariel (Ryan) Nearhood, Boone Christiansen, Melody Christiansen; great-grandson, George Marsden; brother, Arvid Christiansen; and sister-in-law, Barbara Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; brother, Rolf Christiansen and son, Eric Christiansen, Jr. Funeral services will be private.
