Emory F. Lasseter, 65, of Curtice, Ohio, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. He was born December 25, 1947, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Robert M. and Clara Fountain Lasseter. On July 29, 1983, in Williston, Ohio, he married Carolyn J. Sandrock and she survives. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston. In 1989 Emory retired as Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy having served for 22 years. After retirement he helped on the farm. Emory was an avid camper and enjoyed going to state parks, especially in the State of Georgia, and he also enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving Emory are his wife, Carolyn, sister-in-law, Marilyn Sandrock, brother-in-law, Roland Janice Sandrock and mother-in-law, Edna Sandrock, all of Curtice; nieces, Amy Tom Wilson, Jennifer Gary Johnson and Kimberly Benji Sommers, nephew, Ronald Amy Sandrock; eleven great nieces and nephews; and Jim and Penny Lasseter, Rob and Jessie Lasseter, Jennifer Brantley, and his golden retrievers, Hunny and Sunnie. His parents and brother-in-law, Frederick Sandrock, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio, with a family gathering and luncheon to follow. The family has suggested memorials for Emory to St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., P.O. Box 235, Williston, OH 43468; Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430, has assisted the family with arrangements.
