Emma Maxine Nicks

April 13, 1927 — December 6, 2022

Emma Maxine Nicks, daughter of Roy A. and Velma E. Miller, was born in Hazelgreen, Mo on April 13, 1927, and departed this life on December 6, 2022, in Toledo, OH.

On January 26, 1946, she was united in marriage with Willard Nicks, and to this union was born one son, Timothy, who survives. Willard preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.

Early in life she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and at the time of her passing was a member of the Schweitzer Church of Springfield, Missouri, where she and her husband Willard were very active in their earlier years together.

She was a warm loving Mother, Grandmother, Homemaker and dedicated her life to her family and those around her. She was kindhearted and went out of her way to make everyone she met feel welcomed and cared about. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Maxine is survived by her son, Tim Nicks and his wife Susan of Maumee, Ohio; one granddaughter, Jaime Nicks and one grandson Steven Nicks and his wife Amanda of Maumee, Ohio; five great grandchildren, Sophie, Emma, Bradley, Makayla and Haylee of Maumee, Ohio; Sisters-in-law, Donna Saylor and her husband Bart of Belmond, Iowa, Cathy Nicks of Booneville, Missouri, Fumiko (June) Huffman of Beaumont, California, Debbie Nicks of Palm Springs, California; Cousin Clovis Davenport and his wife Bettie of Lebanon, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maxine resided at The Lakes of Monclova Care Center for nearly six years. It was home to her, and she considered the residents and great staff an extension of her family.
