Emelia Millie Layman, 88, of Ruskin, Florida, died Monday morning, October 6, 2008, in her residence. Millie was born June 8, 1920, in Iliff, Colorado, to Jacob and Catherine Komlofske Rollheiser. On June 25, 1949, in Genoa, Ohio, she married Kenny Layman and he survives. Her first husband, Joe Lauer, whom she married in 1938, preceded her in death in 1945. Many years ago Millie worked as a sales clerk at the former Tiedtkes in Toledo. She was currently a member of St. Annes Catholic Church in Ruskin, Florida, and had been the former treasurer and member of the Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, Kenny, she is survived by her sons, Martin Carol Lauer of Rochester Hills, MI, and Jake Janice Lauer of Oregon, OH; sisters, Anna Kaiser of Elmore, and Rosie Melvin Jensen of Elmore; brothers, John Rollheiser of Oak Harbor, and Pete Carol Rollheiser of Colorado. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Joe, son, Gerald Lauer, sisters: Catherine Fisher and Mary Beekman, and brothers: Jake Rollheiser and Joe Rollheiser. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father David L. Ritchie at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, beginning with prayers offered at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. The family suggests memorials for Millie to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
