ELZO ROBERT ROGERS Elzo “Connie” Robert Rogers, age 85, of Haines City, FL. passed away January 26, 2014 in Florida. He was born in Cardington, OH on March 21, 1928 to Conroy and Mary Agnes (Robinson) Rogers. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Elzo was employed as Assistant Manager for the Ohio Department of Taxation for over 30 years. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Walbridge Fire Department, an avid golfer, loved baseball, to polka and play cards. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years Leila Mae (Noellert) his brother Alva “Elmo” and sisters Sheila and Joyce. He is survived by his daughter with Leila, Laurie (Joseph) Mold; children from Leila’s first marriage: Michael Rogers, Deidre Teagan, Mark Andrachik; children from his first marriage: Mary, Robert, Lisa, Rita, Rhoda and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Tuesday February 4th from 6-8 PM, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121) where services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
