Elveria Pescara, 81, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the University of Michigan Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Elveria was born April 2, 1934 to Quirino and Maria DiPillo. She immigrated to the United States in 1954, only to return to Italy a year later to marry the love of her life. In 1958, her husband Elvio was able to join her in America, initiating the beginning of their true American success story. Together, they raised three children and were a big part of the lives of their nine grandchildren. Elveria and Elvio opened their home to so many who, to this day, are impacted by their love. She was happiest when she was helping others. She lived life as a true Servant of God, visiting sick friends and family, providing meals to those in need, and reaching out to the lonely. She dropped everything at any time for anyone. She enjoyed gardening and had the most beautiful rose garden and flowers. She also loved to cook. Many might be surprised to learn that she was an avid sports fan. She was a true fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and Minnesota Vikings. She will live on in the memories of her friends and family as a beautiful gift with an adventurous spirit and an unyielding capacity to love. Elveria was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Elvio; sisters Emilia and Iole; brother Filippo; brothers-in-law Amleto Pescara, Felice Pescara, Nello DiPietro and Alessandro Vinci; sister-in-law Ivana Cappola; nephew Sergio; son Rodney and granddaughter Dominique. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Anthony (Cynthia) Pescara, Marco (Lisa) Pescara, and Lisa (David) Kovach; grandchildren, Anthony (Lydia) Pescara, Giovanna (Michael) Toth, Gianna, Ariana, Noah, Melina, Taylor, Gabriel, and Tatiana. Elveria is also survived by sisters Liberata Vinci, Rosina (Bob) Kester, and Emma (Al) Kester in addition to sister-in-law Angelina (Felice) Pescara and Vera (Amleto) Pescara and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
