Elmer F. Schmeltzer

Elmer F. Schmeltzer, age 91, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on July 24, 1921 to Frederick and Mary Kannenberg Schmeltzer in Lakewood, Ohio. Elmer was a member of the China-India-Burma Theater during WWII and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio. He loved reading Scripture and spending time with his loving wife of 65 years. Elmer is survived by his wife, Marcia Betz; nephew, Elliott Louise Manke and several grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elsie Manke and Erna Mergner. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 3pm until 7pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
