Elmer Lotshaw, 88, of Waterville, Ohio, died April 3, 2013. He was born in July, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Clara Lotshaw. He attended a one room school 20 Mile Stand and then Ohio State Univ. before entering the U.S Army Air Corps in WWII. He served as 1st. Lt. with the 81st ASG during WWII in the Pacific. Following his service he finished his education at OSU, then moved to the Univ. of Iowa to complete his PhD. Program. Elmer worked as an Assistant Prof. in the School of Business at Washington Univ. in St. Louis, while also working as an economist for Pet Milk Co. He later moved to NW Ohio where he began a career in Marketing and Research for Owens-Illinois, becoming Chief Economist. After retiring, he continued to work as a visiting professor in the School of Business Adm. at BGSU. Elmer always enjoyed a busy professional and recreational life with the American Marketing Assoc., the Friday Mens Discussion Group, the Toledo Naturalists Association, and Jolly Roger Sailing Club. He had a love of outdoor activity, including canoeing, hiking, camping, biking and sailing. He especially loved sailing the Great Lakes and the North Channel. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray. His memory will be cherished by his surviving wife Ann; his children Leslie Martin, David Linda, William Marlinda and Lisa Dale; grandchildren Kelly Herb, Jason, Tom, Amy, Stephanie, Ethan, Sara, Elizabeth; great grandchildren Lauren and Audrey. and his brother Ralph. There will be a Celebration of Elmers Life at 4 P.M.on June 12, 2013, at the family home. As a remembrance, donations may be made in Elmers name to: Jolly Roger Sailing Clubs Junior Sailing Program, The Toledo Naturalists Association, or the Toledo Museum of Art.
