ELMER CARL BROSSIA, JR. Elmer Carl Brossia, Jr., 71, of Bowling Green, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Wood County Hospital. Elmer was born December 8, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Elmer C. and Edna I. (Smith) Brossia, Sr. Elmer proudly served our country in The United States Marine Corps. He married Martha “Lollie” Gabel on December 15, 1967 and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2006. Elmer worked as a power house plant repair man for Toledo Edison for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Haskins. Elmer was a member of the Wood County Sheriff Auxiliary and was a longtime leader of the Boy Scouts Troop #350 and Wood County District. He is survived by his children, Elmer C. (Michelle) Brossia, III and Marcile (Howard) Chism; grandchildren, Austin Mt. Castle, Abigail Mt. Castle, Jacob Chism, Kirsten Chism, Noah Brossia, Braeden Coward and Logan Coward; siblings, Charles (Daisy) Brossia, Georgiana Shank and Jeanette Okumus and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Lollie, Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Brossia. Friends will be received Monday, May 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) Visitation will continue at 9 A.M. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Haskins, 17050 Middleton Pike (SR-582) Bowling Green, OH 43402, where funeral services will begin at 10 A.M. with Pastor Dave Bliss, officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Elmer’s name to USO, P.O. Box 69860, Washington D.C. 20090-6860.
