Ellsworth J. E.J. Scott, age 90, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home in Toledo. E.J. was born March 5, 1920 in Toledo to Harold F. and Irma Dell Scott. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the infantry in Europe during WWII. E.J. worked for McCullough Chain Saws as a sales and marketing manager for 28 years retiring as National Sales Manager in 1985 and then worked as a sales rep for Oregon Chain Saw until 2001. He had a lifelong passion for music and played the trumpet with several dance bands over a 60 year span. E.J. was a member of the Zenobia Shrine and Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving are his daughter, Suzann Scott of Toledo; son-in-law, David Crandell and his wife, Lisa, of Richland, MI; grandchildren, Sarah Jesse Martinez of Kalamazoo, MI, Bret Feaster, Kelli Crandell of Wynanskil, NY, and Jessi Crandell; and great-granddaughters, Grace and Sofia Martinez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Scott; and daughter, Janis A. Crandell. Visitation will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm with interment following at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
