Ellis Carl Kirk age 81 of Toledo passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born May 1, 1934 in Freeburn, Kentucky to Albert and Virginia (Conn) Kirk and was a retiree of Jones Transfer. He gave his heart to the Lord March 21, 1971 and was a longtime active member of Northwest Baptist Church. Ellis was an accomplished musician and songwriter with many recorded songs. He was also a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings, he is survived by his wife Ann; children James (Lola) Kirk, David Kirk , Andy (Linda) Staton, Sherrie (Jimmie) Wilson, Pati Carmichael, Cindy (Mike) Stager, Becky (Mike) Tabrizipour and Penny (Joe) Montell; 40 grandchildren; 30 great; 1 great-great; and brothers Harold Kirk and Glen (Barb) Kirk. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Monday from 2-8 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 10-11 AM in Northwest Baptist Church 3906 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo with funeral services at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
