Elliot Damir Peat passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2025, at the age of 26. He was born in Russia on June 3, 1999, and was adopted at the age of four.
A 2017 graduate of West Bloomfield High School, Elliot went on to earn his Associate’s Degree while proudly serving in the United States Navy. He enlisted in 2017 and served honorably as a hospital corpsman. His assignments took him to Twentynine Palms, Camp Lejeune, and most recently Newport Naval Station. It was in Newport that he married his best friend, Trinidee Peat. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Lilyanna, on July 2, 2025 — a moment that brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
His loving grandparents, Phyllis and James Szymanski, were an essential part of his everyday life. He would call or FaceTime them almost daily. They both were a tremendous support system for him, as well as his Aunts, Uncle, like-a-sister, Mackenzie Cupp and many cousins — all of whom he loved dearly.
Elliot was known for his curiosity, vibrant spirit, and infectious laugh. He had a sharp, often unexpected sense of humor that could light up any room and bring joy to those around him. His laughter was the kind that stayed with you — the kind that made even the hardest days a little easier. He grew into a thoughtful, respected man with a strong sense of purpose and deep love for his family and friends.
Elliot’s personality was defined by his strong will, sense of style, generosity, and fierce loyalty. He believed in giving his best in all things — from the clothes he wore to the way he cared for others. He was always willing to lend a hand, and even adopted a dog, Thor, when its family could no longer keep him. He was well respected by his peers and leadership in the Navy.
A man of deep faith, Elliot was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, where he achieved the rank of 3rd Degree Knight and aspired to earn his 4th. His dedication to faith, family, and service left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Elliot is survived by his beloved wife, Trinidee; their infant daughter, Lilyanna; his parents, Timothy and Pamela Peat; brother, Spencer; grandparents, James and Phyllis Szymanski; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Claire Peat.
A visitation will be held at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, on Friday, August 8, 2025,beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Elliot will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his courage, compassion, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
