Ellen Marie Mahler, 62, of Marblehead passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio, July 30, 1945, the daughter of Joseph Bell and Gladys Scott Mahler, Sr. Ellen was a graduate of Lakeside High School in 1964. She was the youngest of five girls of a total of 12 siblings. Ellen started working at Michnay Stop & Shop in Danbury Township. She then became employed by the Marblehead Bank and worked her way up to the bookkeeping manager, where she worked for almost 30 years. Ellen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Danbury and also was a former member of the church choir. She was a member of W.E.L.C.A. She was an excellent cook. Ellen was the godmother of the family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her brothers, Joseph Darlene Mahler, Jr., Franklin A. Mahler, Gerald W. Lucy Mahler, Walter D. Linda Mahler and James S. Rita Mahler all of Danbury; sisters, Barbara A. Jim McGee of Port Clinton, Carol J. William Covey, Patricia J. Gilbert Wadsworth and Evelyn B. Cleo Bodi all of Danbury; sister-in-law, Delores Mahler of Danbury; 40 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, special friend, Joel Stull, brother and sister-in-law, Jack Junior Mahler and Gloria Mahler and brother, Christopher Mahler. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2008, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Chris Young at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Cntributions in memory of Ellen may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
