Ellen Jane Chio

Ellen Jane Chio, 89, formerly of Tiffin Street in Port Clinton, OH passed away peacefully Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont, OH. She was born in Toledo, OH to Wayne and Ethel Davenport Lerch. She attended Libbey High School in Toledo. On April 15, 1937 in Toledo, OH she married Greer Joseph Chio, and he survives. Ellen worked as a homemaker and on the family farm most of her married life. Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Greer; sons: Larry Eleanor Chio of Oregon, OH, Floyd Ellen Chio of Rock Hill, SC, Michael Edie Chio of Jackson, MI, and Jeffrey Ann Chio of Oak Harbor, OH; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bruce and Wayne Lerch; and sisters: Belva Shertzer and Mary. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH.
