Elizabeth Witt, 91, of Martin, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, June 30, 2010, in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Elizabeth was born April 15, 1919, in Martin, Ohio, to Clarence and Lillian Dipman Bringe. On September 7, 1940, in Elliston, Ohio, she married Willard Witt, who preceded her in death August 29, 1994. Elizabeth was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and taught first grade in the Genoa Area Schools for 25 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Elliston, where she attended the S.T.A.R. class and the Progressive Sunday School class. She and her husband, Willard, were Youth Fellowship advisors for many years. Elizabeth was also a member of the Riverview Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Ottawa County Retired Teachers Association. She and Willard enjoyed many years of boating together and vacationing in Florida during the winter months. They especially enjoyed the many years at The Marsh with the family. Elizabeth, being a family-oriented and caring person, attended all the sporting events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Tom Donna Witt and Jere Kathy Witt both of Martin, and Cheryl Royce Buehler of Genoa; grandchildren, Jim, Todd, Brad and Mark Witt, Lisa Cruickshank and Nicholas Buehler; great grandchildren including two on the way, Casey, Cody, Aaron, Sam, Seth, Marin, Madden, Dylan, Derek, Caden and Caitlin. Elizabeth is also survived by her siblings, Marion Rudes, Margie Greuel, Becky Jensen, and Fred Bringe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Marvel Johnson and Leila Reeder. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, in Zion United Methodist Church, Elliston, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
