Elizabeth Betsy Traber

July 5, 1951 — March 21, 2018

Elizabeth “Betsy” A. Traber, 66, of Perrysburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born in Cleveland, OH on July 5th, 1951, Betsy was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Ann Keska. In 1969, she graduated high school and continued her education at Kent State University. While there, Betsy met her husband Lanny C. Traber and they spent forty-four blissful years together. After graduating from Kent, she went on to earn a master’s degree in nursing at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. Betsy had a passion for nursing and caring for others, especially babies. Toledo Hospital’s Obstetrical unit became her second home for twenty years, followed by a stint at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, and she ended her career as the Clinical OB Nurse Manager at St. Anne’s Hospital. Betsy was a child of God and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. In her spare time she loved to read, cook, knit, and cheer on her children at their various sporting events. In the summer, Betsy spent her days at the beach on Hilton Head Island with family and friends. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could cheer up anyone, and Betsy’s love for her husband and children was endless. Along with her loving husband, Lanny, Betsy is survived by her children: Tim (Kelli) Traber, Chris Traber, Andrew (fiancée, Sarah) Traber, and Megan (Mathew) Cosgrove; grandchildren, Eli, Lauren, Mathew Jr., and Madison; siblings, Kenneth (Helene) Keska, and Melinda Kardos, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Joey Tijerina, and brother-in-law, Michael Kardos.
