Elizabeth Alice Mitchell

Elizabeth Alice Mitchell, passed on December 18th 2025 at the age of 96 years old. A long time resident of Perrysburg, Ohio. Born on April 28th, 1929, to parents James and Elizabeth Foreman in St. Catherines, Ontario.

In her yearly years she loved to bike right with her sisters along the Niagara River. She would tell stories of getting picked up for school in winter by military trucks, and would often say that New York got the leftover snow that Canada didn’t want.

At the age of 19 Elizabeth Foreman became Elizabeth Mitchell when she married William D. Mitchell. The couple would go on to have their eldest child Sandy (Tim) Kontak. Elizabeth and William emigrated from Ontario, Canada to Ohio in 1953 with their oldest child Sandy. They would soon after have two more children in James (Cindy) Mitchell, and Kieth (Maria) Mitchell. Elizabeth's family would go on to flourish, becoming the grandmother to eight grandchildren, great grandmother to fifteen, and great great grandmother to thirteen little ones.

Elizabeth spent the majority of her adult life having a career as a medical assistant to local area doctors. Anyone who knew her could tell you about her passion and pride in her Canadian heritage with her love of hockey and more specifically the Maple Leaves. Elizabeth also had a special place in her life for Yorkshire Terriers, in which she had many through her years. Elizabeth also had a prominent love of butterflies, especially Monarchs. Not a time shall pass when her family will see a Monarch butterfly and not be able to think about their Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Elizabeth could also be remembered from her unmatched level of pure luck as she made her way around the casinos, striking paydirt on any machine that she sat at.

Elizabeth Alice Mitchell will not have a traditional service or showing as her wishes requested. Elizabeth's ashes shall be spread by family in St. Catherines, Ontario so that she may return home to the country that she dearly loved.
