Elizabeth A. Liz Milbrodt

Elizabeth Liz A. Milbrodt, 89, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully surrounded by her entire family, friends, and the loving staff of both the Genoa Retirement Village and Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Wednesday evening, May 16, 2018. She was born December 17, 1928, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Max and Leona (Hetrick) Griest. On July 24, 1948, in Oak Harbor she married Marvin Tiny Milbrodt and he preceded her in death December 21, 2001. Elizabeth worked in the family business as the bookkeeper for Griest Motor Sales in Oak Harbor for 50 years, and they ran Tims Tell Service for horse shows for many years before retiring in 1999. She was also the Deputy Registrar for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Oak Harbor for 27 years. Elizabeth was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and the Kitchen Cutie Band at church, the Junior Womens Club and the Democratic Club, as well as her Canasta Club. Years ago Elizabeth had been active in the Band Mothers at Oak Harbor High School and with the American Red Cross Blood Drives. She was also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Elizabeth was also honored as the Grand Marshall of the Oak Harbor Apple Festival Parade. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Nancy Lajti of Oak Harbor and Judy Gaeth of West Glover, VT; sons, Michael (Connie) Milbrodt of Graytown and Jerry (Chris) Milbrodt of Fremont; grandchildren, Tera (Chris) Zimmer, Ty (Ellen) Milbrodt, Stacy (Bob) Hartman and Brett (Shannon) Lajti; and great grandchildren, Grayson and Clase Zimmer, Gus and Hank Hartman, and Landon Lajti. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018, at St John Ev. Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, with burial to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery. Memorials for Elizabeth may be given to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, the Luther Home of Mercy, P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468, or Circus Smirkus, 1 Circus Rd., Greensboro, VT 05841.
