October 19, 1912 — September 12, 2008

Happ Elizabeth Elsie Kontak Elsie A. Happ, age 95, died peacefully Friday, September 12, 2008 at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. She was a wonderful, loving, giving, God fearing wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend. Her laugh was contagious and joyful. She cherished her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was a charter member of the former Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Toledo and a active participant in many activities. Elsie was in the first graduating class of Clay High School. Preceding her in death were her parents, Julius and Florentine Semrock Kontak, best friend and husband Edward Happ, brothers Reynold, William, Otto, Henry, Arthur Kontak, and sister Tillie Hennemen. She is survived by her sisters Lillian Bankey Ernie , Newbury Park, Ca., and Alice Huss Dale , Grove City, Ohio, daughter Barbara Hughes Richard , Gainesville, Fl., and son Carl Happ Sue , Maumee , Ohio, sister-in-laws Lois Happ, Holland Ohio, Laurie Happ, Daytona Beach , Fl., grandchildren Robert Hughes Cherrie , Jodi Frysinger Rodney , Rod Hughes Lourdes , Jamie Happ Christine , Andrea Williamson Michael , Christopher Hughes Erica , many nieces and nephews, and her ten great grandchildren. We all enjoyed every day we had with her and will deeply miss her. The family would like to thank the caring people at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Walker Funeral Home at 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, Ohio 43623. A Lutheran funeral service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, Sylvania, Ohio on Monday, September 15 at 10:30AM with interment following at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, King of Glory Lutheran Church, Sylvania, Ohio or Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek.
