Elizabeth H Fackelman

June 6, 1921 — January 27, 2017

Elizabeth H. Fackelman, 95, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed away into the Lords arms on January 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 6, 1921 to Martin and Louise Gibbons of Toledo. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1940, she worked as a secretary before marrying her beloved Edward in 1949 and beginning a family. Elizabeth later returned to work and retired from Owens-Illinois in 1986. She joined Christ the King Church in 1954 and remained a faithful member for the rest of her life. Elizabeth enjoyed an active retirement with Edward, traveling to visit many friends and family around the country. She also volunteered at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for more than twenty years, where she was a member of the auxiliary board. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her brother, Martin; and her son-in-law, Bob Ripinski. She will be missed by her six children, Lee (Ana) Fackelman, Mary Ripinski, Jean (Tracy) Rucker, Donald Fackelman, Dale Fackelman and Rita (Rand) Bishop. Elizabeth also enjoyed the love of her four grandchildren, Anna (Michael) Glendon, Laura Rucker, Daniel Fackelman and Andrea Fackelman. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the kind support that they provided for Elizabeth. Friends may visit on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania in Toledo with a rosary prayer service beginning at 6 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Parish, 4100 Harvest Lane, on Tuesday, January 31at 10 AM with visitation at 9 AM prior to the mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor’s choice.
